Profile

If your organization is in need of a trainer (China-based); I am actively seeking a position in training as it relates to your strategic initiatives.

Currently an assistant professor at Keuka China Programs, Inc. (KCPI), a transnational branch of Keuka College in New York. Courses include Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Personal & Career Development. KCPI is the largest (U.S. Based) cross-border initiative in mainland China. Vincent has completed data collection as a participant observer with this organization and is writing up the results (working on chapter five now!) for his dissertation (PhD, the Washington State University).

Student Affairs administrator at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and the Washington State University (Wazzu) for 11 years. Received several awards of outstanding service from each institution as well as regional and national recognition for successful programs targeting international students, issues of racism, prejudice, diversity and drug/alcohol abuse. Served as Student Affairs Diversity Chair for two years of the five spent at WSU. Keynote speaker at numerous local, regional and national student leadership and professional association conferences. Trained paraprofessionals and professionals in a wide variety of areas and compliance issues.

Between those two positions, served (for five years) as HR director for a global subsidiary of Hitachi Cable, Ltd; responsible for all training in the organization, particularly cross-cultural issues.

Vincent is just beginning his fifth year in China. The first two years were spent laying the groundwork for his doctoral research by managing a private language training school and conducting a pilot study while serving as Professor/Foreign Expert at three major Chinese universities. He also Has served (three years) as a consultant for an international (Switzerland-China) joint-venture in the aromatics industry. Developed a curriculum for the managers of that organization including leadership, strategic planning and communication (focused on cross-cultural issues) skills.Just before moving to China, Vincent served briefly as chief student affairs officer for the oldest Traditional Chinese Medicine school in the U.S.

Research areas: cross-border or transnational higher education, transnational joint-ventures, expat HR issues, leadership, sustainable development, higher education policy, prejudice & racism and intelligence. Vincent received his B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Mississippi (senior thesis on social distance was later published) and his Master's in Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology from the Washington State University.
