Profile

As a seasoned Operations Executive with over fifteen years Board and Executive level experience, and more than twenty-five years management knowledge, I believe now is the right time to start my own consultancy helping SME owners and senior executives run their business, by helping them manage their business more effectively.

Experience - and many contacts and friends - tells me that many medium-sized businesses, between 10 and 250 employees and up to £40M turnover, are of a size where their operational needs outstrip the capabilities or capacity of the senior team or business owners. At a time when the Board should be focusing on client management and retention, business development, and cash and revenue generation - too much time is being spent in managng the people, processes, or performance. Of course, if that time is not spent things will not change - but when that time is spent, other critical matters such as revenue management, gets lost.

Those challenges can be as diverse as: no or inappropriate strategies; poorly implemented strategies; abandoned or incomplete projects, with attendant sunk costs and no benefits; staffing problems ranging from inadequate performance through inappropriate staffing levels, to poor talent management; premises issues including inappropriate leases or building control; no disaster recovery or business contintuiy planning, or worse, untested until an emergency strikes; regulatory or quality control issues, senior staff gaps - or a host of other challenges which can be left. And can cost...

Hence OakView Consulting - my business set up specifically to provide that senior level practical support, where and when needed and costed appropriately - to give owners, directors and investors the comfort of knowing that their business can be managed by an experienced business partner whilst they focus on driving the business forward.

OVC will concentrate on helping SME business leaders and owners build successful and sustainable businesses through careful strategic and operational planning and perfect execution.
