Much as they did back in the 1980's with one of their endeavours, albeit not the MLM sort....I did a stint at BofA back then; Apple was one of the biggest clients of the department; we all rec'd Apple II's as a result. At the very same time, I embarked on my one-time-only 'Pyramid Scheme' (then called an 'Airplane Game')-- the ultimate in MLM'S! Both the Apple II and the 'Airplane Game' sucked fairly quickly. Now SYNERGY might become activated... Victoria Does that mean that Google is a scam??? Potentially yes because arbitrage is not a real market it is a moment in time need. Will Google be wiped out by Facebook? No. Could Google be wiped out by Facebook? Yes. Are they both MLM companies? Yes. AT&T were not wiped out by IBM were not wiped out by Microsoft were not wiped out by Google were not wiped out by Facebook ... they just became irrelevant (but profitable). The actual age of the founders matters alot here. Founders must retire and explore pastures (k)new. Founders require Freedom (the point of this blog). If the world indeed moves in the direction of ORS, it will be only because of survival and necessity not through Awareness, Love and Freedom. However good things come out of survival and necessity, just we need to understand why. At least that is my way. Also monetizing Freedom is great for the social median game but Freedom of course can never be monetized. At least not the Freedom I am interested in. But these are more existential issues NOT really the guts of the blog which I thought was great. My approach is always how we humans can remain human and still have an abundant, happy and relaxed lifestyle. That is why more thoughtful blgs are about the human condition. The communists (and it's variations) are taking all over the world. I'm not much inspired today and all I can say is that from now on Freedom increasingly tends to deteriorate. If communists etc are using the internet to take over the world why not freedom loving section use it to prevent the take over. I have found that when people try to control their lives they actually have no control but when they give up control they have complete control. The interent is controllable as the Chinese have shown but will be interesting to see how long that control continues. Now we will see the new TV on Demand era that Freedom is bringing and we will see who will pay for what and at what level the programming in 10 years is down to because for sure it will come down in content and value so we must hope that quality independent TV producers continue their good work and terrestrial TV does not give up the ghost. I wonder whether overall we are all loosing our freedom. There are many controlled steps in place. Everyone of the social media and sales sites can shut you down, we've heard about PayPal not releasing money, eBay stopping sellers getting their money, in none of the cases are 'real'people involved in making those decisions and you are left to come up with evidence in eversion only. Google can stop your ads, there is huge power and control behind it all. Can we stop it? I can't see how. Freedom cannot be justified for motives dealing only in monetary benefits for oneself or one enterprise. True freedom will arise when people realize that building on monetary benefits one tries to achieve freedom for self and others. We should elevate our mindset to liberate the daily, weekly and yearly process cycle that we have inherited. Then only according to me we will be able to achieve true freedom. The idea that someone can earn money to sell goods at the SAME price as offered normally, has to be viewed as simple commission on sales. The term MLM has become misconstrued recently and has wrongly come to incorporate 2 level affiliate schemes where one can not only earn by selling that product on a web page, but can also find others to sell that product at the SAME price and earn a smaller commission for introducing that person (obviously not earn from any introductions made by that person). This practice has been accepted in ALL countries with the exception of Germany. For clarity, I too, think MLM is not a good business model for the distributor. It is debatable whether Google et al is MLM under that definition. You could then include most shopping channels. However, marketing techniques are becoming more aggressive, more controlling and more widespread. I feel really sorry for those people who use the search engines just to enter URLs to navigate to them and forget the address box in the browser! People do have a choice as they can learn about how to market using other channels, such as social and business networking. Being realistic on ground facts that people have shrunked purchasing power, who else will go for expensive products, so the hegemony is been developing by these countries especially on production side. My first response to this was can I skype you, as I wanted to ask some questions. I agree with the CSC v ORS comments, and thought that Thomas Power's brilliant uTube video The digital mindset was a great overview of the subject. The questions. Why are Google, FB, Apple MLMs? How are they monetising the internet? I agree the internet is freedom, but don't understand how freedom is control. I see things more from the Eckhart Tolle point of view, personality v ego, so control in any form is personality and usually doesn't lead to freedom. sorry for the list of Q's, would have benefitted from a conversation with you methinks, as I'm sure you can explain.
